Scholarship Request Terms & Conditions

Overview: Southside Lacrosse League (SSLL) considers league registration scholarships for players, who without financial assistance, would be unable to participate in SSLL programs.

SSLL has a limited number of scholarships available each season.  Submission of this Scholarship Application does not imply or guarantee a scholarship award. If the number of scholarship applications submitted and approved exceeds the number of scholarships available, scholarships will be determined by a lottery system. SSLL will never discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender or disability.

All information submitted by Applicant is confidential and will not be shared outside of SSLL Board Directors.

Requirements for Eligibility:

  • Athletes must of eligible and appropriate age to participate in the SSLL program for which the application is being submitted.

  • Parents/Guardians commit that the athlete will attend a minimum of 75% of all scheduled practices and 90% of all games, unless a specific notice of conflict(s) is/are noted in this application.  If an emergency or urgent family matter arises that will prevent your child from fulfilling this requirement, you must notify the League Director in writing and cc your child’s head coach.

  • Parents/Guardians agree to volunteer 4 hours per scholarship recipient for SSLL related activities.  Examples of SSLL related volunteer activities include, but are not limited to, check-in desk, scorekeeping, on-site field setup assistance and team communication. All volunteer hours must be arranged through the League Volunteer Coordinator.

Qualifications & Application Procedure: Scholarship consideration will be given to families who provide a written statement of financial hardship, explaining their current situation in detail.  Incomplete applications may automatically be denied.

A parent, guardian, or head of household must complete the application, with all requested information provided.

SSLL will consider all Scholarship Applications completed with supporting documentation and received by the deadline. The dollar amount of the scholarship awarded (if any) may be a partial or full scholarship depending on the number of applicants and amount of scholarship funds available. The parent, guardian or head of household noted on the application will be notified whether or not a scholarship is awarded.

  • Approval of a registration scholarship does not register the participant in the activity.

  • Athlete must still register online for the SSLL program sport for which the scholarship was awarded.
